Established 2.5.2011

It's nearly been two weeks since Kyle and Maddie got married. The time has flown. I've been meaning to post this sooner but my camera is broken so I had to wait to gather some photos that others had taken that day. Most of these were taken by Kyle's aunt. When we get the fancy photos from the photographer I promise to post a bunch of those also.

The day was a success. Everything ran pretty smoothly and everyone had a great time. Especially Kyle and Maddie.

Kyle's Bishop officiated the ceremony.

Now it's official!

I loved her pretty hair and the hair peice. The dress was perfect. (Thank you Heather!)

The flower girls... Maddie's sisters.

Maddie is one lucky girl... and Kyle is one lucky guy!

The reception cupcakes were to die for! The lemon ones were filled with custard... I was in heaven!

The cake was super cute.

What other time is it acceptable for a guy to put his head up a girl's skirt in public?

Maddie getting ready to throw the bouquet.

She threw it so hard that it went way over the heads of all the single girls.

It was a long day.

We sent them off to their honeymoon with this masterpiece of a car.

A big thank you to everyone who helped to make the day special for Kyle and Maddie. I'm happy to have Maddie in our family and I'm happy to see Kyle building a family of his own.

Max's birthday party & other stuff

On Sunday we had a little birthday party for Max. We had a few people from mine and Thayne's family come. Max loved seeing everyone and getting to play with all of the kids. Here are some photos of the festivities. :)

In June my good friend Carla got married. I love weddings and was thrilled when she asked me to help out with it. I was in charge of the bridesmaids dresses, another dress for her sister Nicole to wear to the luncheon and some of the reception decorations. It turned out to be a beautiful wedding and I was so grateful to be able to be so involved.
Kyle was Nicole's date for the day.

My friend Liz and I threw Carla a bridal shower. I forgot to get more pictures but the shower turned out amazing. I did the decorations and some of the food and Liz did most of the food. We made a great team. I made the towel cake above for Carla to take home with her after the shower and I framed photos of the happy couple and set them out and I also gave those to Carla afterward.

In digging around in the many photos I have neglected to post in the past few months I found this one from Tristyn's prom way back in April. She looked gorgeous as always and her dress was super cute and unique. There weren't any even close to similar at her prom.

I heart weddings

I absolutely LOVE weddings. Flowers, decorations, photos, food, pretty dresses, tux's and romance. I'm a sucker for it all. But I especially love them when I know and love the people getting married. And I especially love it when I get to be a part of making the whole thing happen. So, when my friend Cherie called me about making bridesmaids dresses I was ecstatic. Her son is marrying my other friend Carla. Carla is like a sister to me and Cherie is like a mom. It's like one big family that we have and it's great. I love that I get to be involved in Bart & Carla's wedding in such a big way and I love that I get to help out some of my favorite people on this earth. I will be making 6 dresses in all... tonight I got started on a dress for Carla and she will decide if she likes it for her bridesmaids or not. If she does, I'll be going ahead with the 5 other dresses in beautiful shades of coral pink. If not, we will go back to the drawing board and find another pattern that she likes. Photos to follow....
